Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I find the "right" therapist?

Choosing a therapist is a big decision! First, you will want to ensure that your therapist is licensed or is being supervised by a licensed provider if they are a trainee. You will also want to find a therapist who specializes in treating your presenting concerns. Most importantly, you will want to find a therapist with whom you feel connected and comfortable being honest and open. Please note that you can also discontinue with a provider at any time if you want a different therapist. Conversely, your therapist may discuss referring you to another provider who may be a better fit and more able to address your treatment needs.

  • Who do you treat?

I treat adults (ages 18+) who are struggling with the effects of past trauma, anxiety, or stress.

  • Do you take insurance?

I accept Aetna and Lyra Health. If I do not accept your insurance, I can still work with you and provide you with documentation to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement depending on your insurance policy. For more information about insurance and rates, click here.

  • What should I expect from therapy?

After your 15-minute phone consultation, you may be scheduled for your initial intake appointment. During this appointment, I will gather information about your background, presenting concerns, and goals for treatment. During the second session, I may continue to assist you in refining your treatment goals, discuss treatment options, and finalize your treatment plan that will outline what to expect during the course of therapy.

  • How do I start therapy?

Call (513) 400-3942 or complete the Contact Form to schedule an initial phone call. During this call, I will get to know you and your reasons for seeking therapy at this time. We will also review my availability, practice, and policies and may schedule an initial intake session. If I am not a good fit for your presenting concerns, I will offer referrals to help you get connected to another therapist or other resources that can better address your treatment needs.

  • What if I need to cancel or do not show up for an appointment?

Please reach out to cancel at least 48 hours before the scheduled appointment. If you cancel your appointment within 48 hours or do not show up, you will be charged a cancellation fee. Of course, if something unexpected or unavoidable happens that would get in the way of following the cancellation and no show policy, simply let me know as soon as possible and I would be happy to make exceptions on an individual basis.

  • Do you prescribe medications?

I cannot prescribe medications but can refer you to a prescriber.
