Services
I provide individual therapy to adults (18+) in-person at my office in Cincinnati, Ohio and online via Telehealth appointments to clients located in Ohio. I use a flexible, cognitive-behavioral approach to best meet my clients’ needs. I integrate both structured and unstructured therapeutic interventions for anxiety and stress, PTSD, or other related mental health concerns.
Specialty Treatments:

The Therapy Process
-
Initial Phone Consultation
New clients receive a free 15-minute phone call to briefly discuss their needs and goals for therapy and hear more about my practice, like my approach to therapy, fees and payment information, and availability. At the end of the call, we may schedule an intake appointment, or I will offer referrals if we believe your needs may be better addressed by another provider.
-
Intake Assessment & Treatment Planning
Clients participate in a 90-minute intake assessment which includes discussion of relevant background information and a formal assessment of current symptoms. At the end of the appointment, we will collaboratively set therapy goals to establish a unique Treatment Plan.
-
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy usually involves a series of weekly 50-60-minute meetings. As symptoms improve, meeting frequency may decrease to biweekly or monthly sessions.
-
Graduation & Termination
A supervisor once told me that our job as psychologists is to work our way out of job. That is, my ultimate goal is to help you attain the goals listed on your Treatment Plan and learn skills to maintain progress on your own. Formal graduation and termination involve a review and celebration of progress and discussion of a plan for maintaining treatment gains and recognizing when to reinitiate services in the future.
PTSD Treatment
-
Cognitive Processing Therapy
CPT is an evidence-based treatment for PTSD that typically involves 8-12 50-60 minute therapy sessions. It includes education about PTSD and identifying and challenging unhelpful beliefs stemming from past trauma (i.e., self- or other-blame; negative beliefs about oneself, others, or the world).
-
Prolonged Exposure
PE is an evidence-based treatment for PTSD that typically involves 12 90-minute sessions. It involves education about PTSD, recalling the traumatic event in session to allow for full processing, and gradually approaching trauma reminders (e.g., people, places, situations) to reclaim one’s life from PTSD.
Fees
Enliven is primarily a self-pay practice and the fees listed below are for self-pay clients. I accept payment via all major credit cards, Health Savings Accounts (HSA), and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). Clients agreed to keep a card on file which is automatically charged through the Client Portal on the morning following each appointment.
The initial phone consultation is free.
The intake assessment is $250.
Individual therapy sessions are $200.
Please note that no shows or late cancellations (within 48 hours of the appointment time) are charged the full session fee. Of course, if something unexpected or unavoidable happens that would get in the way of following the cancellation and no show policy, simply let me know as soon as possible, and I may make exceptions on an individual basis.
Health Insurance
I am in network with Aetna.
For individuals with other insurance coverage, your insurance may provide out-of-network benefits and reimburse you for a portion of services. I can provide a Statement for Insurance Reimbursement, or Superbill (a document that includes a list of services, medical billing codes, and diagnoses), that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. The Superbill will be automatically generated for you each month and accessible via the online Client Portal. Please note you are still responsible for 100% of all payments at the time of each appointment and that reimbursement is not guaranteed.
For additional information about your insurance plan, it is recommended that you contact your insurance company directly via the customer service phone number on the back of your insurance card.
Please note that billing insurance and Superbills require a diagnosis which will become a part of your medical record. Diagnoses are often discussed during the first 1-2 appointments following formal assessment in the intake. If you have any related questions or concerns about this at any time, please ask me.
Good Faith Estimate
You may obtain a good faith estimate of charges upon request prior to scheduling. The No Surprises Act is a federal law which provides you with the right to a good faith estimate of the cost of services at this practice. However, Ohio licensing board rules require me to provide you with the actual cost of my charges in a written informed consent form to which you must agree prior to providing services. That will be available to you prior to you being seen for services and prior to any billing. In most cases it is impossible to estimate how many sessions you will need, and that will not be determined until your concerns are evaluated and will also vary based on the progress that you make, which depends in part on your efforts with the process. You will be free to discontinue services at any time or the services may otherwise be terminated in accordance with the informed consent form language.
Although the No Surprises Law says that you may initiate a dispute process if the actual charges are substantially in excess of the Good Faith Estimated charges, i.e. if you are charged $400 more than the estimated cost for a session or for the total estimate provided, that is unlikely to happen and would be a violation of licensing board rules, since you will be agreeing up front to actual charges per session prior to being seen. Dispute information is available upon request, however any changes to my fees will require a change in the informed consent form fees, which you must agree to prior to having them go into effect, otherwise the fees will remain in effect for 12 months.
